John grew up attending church and was educated in Christian Schools. He experienced God’s grace at age 19 and soon after started full time ministry teaching children’s Bible classes. In 1965 John answered the call to pastor in What Cheer, IA where he still Pastors. The congregation built a new church building in 1976 and operated a Christian elementary school from 1986 to 1994. John visits the county jail nearly every week.
